Makeup of the day #MOTD featuring Tarte Holiday Set 2014 (Bon Voyage and Pin Up Blush)

I actually wanted to do a review for my Bourjois haul at Watsons last week but after putting on my face with all the skincare products, the foundation was melting right away. I think it was just too heavy and with the sensitive skin i am, yes i could not proceed. I then removed my makeup using the makeup remover and applied the Sendayu Tinggi Doll skin foundation. This stuff is amazingggg... i didn't have to set it with powder at all because it's just look sooo flawless and matte. I am not a fans of full coverage foundation and this foundation just even out my skin without covering my natural skin too much.

So let's see how i first time using my Tarte Bon Voyage and Tarte Pin Up Girl Blush Palette. I will not do the swatches of everything because so many swatches have already done out there.

What i used for my makeup:
  • Tarte Bon Voyage eyeshadow palette
  • Tarte Lipsurgence lip tint in romantic
  • Tarte Lipsurgence lip gloss in visionary
  • Sendayu Tinggi Doll Skin Foundation in #01-very cute
  • Essence eyeshadow base
  • Sephora mineral compact powder - #30-medium
  • Innisfree no sebum mineral pact
  • Nature republic eyebrow pencil (brown)
  • Large powder brush
  • Style master brushes

What it claims on the Bon Voyage packaging

To the ingredient concious

What's inside

I had no choice but to cut and stick the blush's name on my pin up blush palette. Did this on the eyeshadow palette as well

What it claims and ingredient

And the result
My notes:
  • Pigmentation of the Tarte eyeshadow are good although not as smooth as Urban Decay palette
  • The color stay and did not smudge at all (with the help of eyeshadow base)
  •  Does not irritate your eyes
  • The blusher is very buttery and smooth
  • Colors are nice and stay put for hours
  • Benefit mascara is awesome!! (Birthday gift from Sephora)
  • Lipsurgence really moisturize my lips and the color stay for quite long even after a few sips of drink
  • Application of cream foundation using beauty blender gives super natural and flawless finish
I was super excited to try the Tarte products and i must say that i am very satisfied with my purchases. Thank you Tarte for an amazing Holiday set and now i am broke..hahah. Still lot more products in my mind actually haiyaa..

Till later..Salam

Doll Skin Foundation Sendayu Tinggi Review

Doll Skin Foundation by Sendayu Tinggi. OMG what a great product. I just bought it last week at Watsons and already used it couple times. Price is RM34.20 after discount. The normal price is RM38.00. This product although looks similar to any other beauty cream but this one feels slightly lightweight. Easily blended as long as you wear moisturizer before for smoother application. I have tried Meiko before but that one really made me sweating like hell. It was just not my kind of foundation because i have a dry sensitive skin and heavy cream product just won't do it. They provides 3 shades, 01 Very Cute, 02 So Sweet and 03 Too Pretty. I chose the lightest 01 because i think this one match my skin better when i swatches it on my hand.

This is the new packaging (so soo cute)

What it claims

The ingredients

How it looks

The swatches

Closer look

It just matched perfectly after blending

Added some more to the outer of my hand

Pros:
  • cute packaging
  • lightweight
  • coverage wise is good to those who love natural complexion
  • build-able to full coverage
  • skin feels smooth
  • small amount needed
  • it absorbed instead of only cover the skin
  • does not clog your skin
  • matte finish (no need to put powder)

Cons:
  • it is a little bit patchy if you are in an air conditioning
  • can be slightly drying to those with a dry skin type (works really well with oily skin)
  • contain paraben

My tips:
  • always use a moisturizer for a smoother application
  • use sponge instead of brush because it will leave a brush stroke
  • buy the 03 Very Pretty shades as this one will match any skin color (bought and tested to my dark skin friend)
  • put only 5 or 6 dots to your skin as it will leave very natural looking
  • put more than 6 dots will leave you a full coverage finish
  • to avoid looking cakey, use large powder brush to apply the powder as it will mattify your skin naturally

Overall i think this is a must try product for everybody and no wonder they always been out of stock. Reviews are based on my opinion only. I hope it helps.

Till later loves!

Watson Haul: Sendayu Tinggi, Essence and unnamed brand

I have been very into shopping lately. It just make me happy and i know you guys know what i mean right (the beauty junkie dilemma). Quick update: I have a job already and so far i feel pretty good. It is in the middle of Kuala Lumpur city and during lunch i get to window shopping around there. They have everything and for the first time i saw Sendayu Tinggi cosmetics at Watsons, Semua House. I just fell in love with their products instantly especially the Doll Skin Foundation which has been raved for quite some time now.

Recently purchased:

Doll Skin Foundation Sendayu Tinggi RM38 10% off = RM34.20
Liquid Concealer ST (Code 01, Vanilla) RM25 10% off = RM22.50
Essence I love Stage Eyeshadow Base RM14.90
Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil (05) RM11.90

Essence I love Extreme Volume Mascara RM15.90

I also bought very large powder brush at small shop in front of the Watsons. It is a very good brush, large and soft. Price = RM40. For me i won't mind the brand, as long as the product is good and pretty high quality why not right.

I will do a separate post about my opinion for each of these products because yeah they deserve them. Till later.

Seoul Trip Day 1

Seoul. Ahh i will never forget those days. I was so happy that my dream came true.

So my flight to Incheon, Seoul was at 11.30 p.m. by using Malaysia Airlines (MAS). It was Saturday, 28th September 2013. I bought the ticket around June, 3 months earlier because it was sold at really cheap. Usually the ticket would be RM1600++ but that time it's only like RM1200++. I went with my friend's family where they are 9 adult including me and 1 kid and 1 baby.

Me, my sister and her daughter and mom before the departure..it was my first time traveling alone without my family

 Meals we had on plane

We arrived safely around 7.30 a.m. Seoul time. Malaysia only 1 hour behind with Seoul so it wasn't that difficult to adapt with the time actually.

Touchdown!!

Our luggage

Upon arrivals at Incheon, we took bus to Gimpo Airport as our flight to Jeju would be from there. We chose Eastar Jet Airlines because it was the cheapest. Flight to Jeju was at 1.35p.m and expected to arrive at 2.40-3.00 p.m. We also placed half of our luggage at the luggage storage in Gimpo because most of our time would be at Seoul. We planned this ahead of time and all of us have separated luggage for Jeju and Seoul. The luggage was charged according to the size of the bag and it's around 20,000++ won.

I don't remember what is the luggage storage name but it is near to this coffee shop.

Gimpo Airport

 Sarah and her pakcik.

We were heading to the other site of Gimpo airport using the shuttle bus

The moment i had my first the-ever-popular-must-try banana uyu. Price = KRW1200

This is the Korean road instructor lady.

After wandering around for hours, we finally checked in to Jeju Island. Half of our luggage already kept in the storage and we worried that the luggage we brought would still over the capacity but naahh it didn't.

After checked in

It took 1-hour flight from Gimpo Airport to Jeju and we chose Eastar Jet to fly there. Booked in advance and it costs around RM200++ return ticket. There was some slight delay and we finally arrived around 4 p.m. at Jeju. The weather at that time was quite terrible, rainy and windy so we just straight to our pension by using Taxi. I think it's already around 5-6 p.m when we arrived at the pension. The pension named Soldaewat (You may click here for your reference). It was booked by my friend's aunt (Maksu) and i remember it was totally affordable. Our plan was to stay at Jeju for 3 days 2 night. The house owner was very helpful because they helped to bring all of our luggage to the dorm. We did have a good rest after a hectic airport transfer. After settled down a little bit, me, Sarah and Maksu walked for a grocery shopping not far from the pension. The Jeju people was really nice even though they couldn't speak English. I bought Banana Uyu again and Sarah bought Strawberry Uyu. I must say that the banana is way better than the Strawberry. We had a good meal and that conclude our first night at Jeju.

To be continued...

Update and review : Innisfree face mist

Assalamualaikum and Hello!

It's been so long right. I was surprised that this blog has more than 3k hits because i thought of closing  it already. Thank you so much!! I hope that my post will helps some of you who in need of information pertaining to Korean Cosmetics. The reason why i create this blog is to contribute whatever information i have to the public because i am also a person who will do a research before i buy a particular product. I am just analytical like that..yes bear with me. I will talk about a face mist today.

Face mist, face fix whatever you called that.

1- Innisfree Green Tea Mineral 50ml

Bought at Seoul
Price: KRW5,000

Ingredients: Camellia sinensis leaf extract, calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate, Camellia japonica leaf extract, orchid extract, oputia coccinellifera fruit extract, citrus unshiu peel extract, betaine, dl-panthenol, propanediol, 1,2-hezanediol, bis-peg-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane, peg-60 hydrogenated castor oil, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance.

This is my own mist from the previous post.

I loveee this mist. It is so refreshing and sometimes i used it when i was sleepy during work. Just to lighten up my face a little bit. It is very lightweight and there is a hint of green tea smells which is totally fine. Who doesn't love green tea right? In term of moisturizing part i think it is good enough for dry skin like me.Those who have oily skin i think this will work fine, just to add something as a freshener to your face especially during winter. Overall i think this is an okay product.

2. Innisfree Eco Science White C mist
Bought from Malaysian Supplier for Korean cosmetics (preorder)
Price: MYR40

Main contents: Jeju organic tangerine peel, Green tea extract, medlar leaf extract, Orchid extract, Cactus extract, Camellia leaf extract

What it claims;

- Jeju organic tangerine peel and green tea extract provides fair skin.

- Protects skin from drying because of the harmful effects of the environment.

- Moisturizes and brightens skin.

I always try to find a product to brighten up my skin instantly that is why i bought this mist. The smells of tangerine is really strong that it might be the major turnoff for some people. As for me i really like it because everytime i sprayed i would imagine the taste of Jeju tangerine. It was so sweet and delish...urghh i miss Jeju!!! For brightening effect i really cannot say much because honestly i did not see any difference. It just felt like something tangy and fresh onto your skin and thats it. It also makes your skin a little bit sticky that's why i only used it as my night skincare routine. But maybe for long term it might works..i don't know. It didn't do any bad nor any good. Price wise i think if you buy it in Seoul, it should be okay but don't buy it in other countries as i don't think it is worth it.

3. Innisfree Mineral Glow Fixer 120ml

Bought from Malaysian Supplier for Korean cosmetics (preorder)
Price: MYR50

Ingredient: Water, butylene glycol, glycerin, mineral salts, camellia, sinensis leaf extract, citrus unshiu peel extract, orchid extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit ectract, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, panthenol, pentylene glycol, polyester-5. disodium EDTA, ethylhexylglycerin, phenoxyethanol, fragrance(parfum).

Both products i mentioned above.

As you all know, Korean makeup trend is dewy looks. That is why if you see them whether in the dramas or advertisement they tend to advertised their signature look. The best example is Song Hye Kyo in the Laneige advertisement. I rarely used this product until recently when my skin tend to be drier than usual. I sprayed lots if it after a full makeup and found out that the result was pretty good. I really love how my skin glowing especially when the day is rainy and cold. But for the sake of hot weather, i will leave it out. Glowing skin in hot weather is a big NOOO..

The picture speaks for itself. For dry skin like me i think it is really good. I don't feel its heavy at all but i saw some reviews said this mist is actually pretty thick on their skin. It is a big size bottle and worth your investment. Innisfree also claims that their products are free from parabens, mineral, animal ingredients and talc..which is awesomeeee!. Repurchase? Of course.

Thats all for now. I will review some more then. Till later.
Salam.

The Face Shop Haul

I went to The Face Shop like 3 times since last month to enjoy the buy 1 free 1 promotion in Malaysia. Sooo luckyyy... I'm not into The Face Shop products before even when i went to Seoul last October, didn't even visit one of the shop there. But once i saw the promotion, yeah it's been my new favorite. I was actually looking for a new skin care routine, since my previous skincare regime didn't do much to my skin. It's just okayyyy so good bye Bio Essence.

So here's a little bit about The Face Shop that i took from Geisha Baby. Credit to her for giving the crucial information i need from Korean cosmetics brand. Thank you so muchhh. The Face Shop is a company under LG. It is a low end naturalistic cosmetic brand featuring ingredients like flowers, fruit, vegetables, grain, etc. Opened its first store in 2003 and had more than 500 stores worldwide by 2005. It branched out to Japan in 2006, introduced by Japanese make-up artist IKKO. It endorses popular Korean singers and idols such as Kim Hyun Joong and Suzy Miss A.

What can i say..the best time to shop for Korean cosmetics is when they are having sales like this. It is worthhhhh it!!! The Face Shop ingredients are pretty much like the ingredients in drug store products so how come the price are that expensive. I just feel like it's so wasteful to pay for the original price. Don't even compare with the price in Korea, it's damn cheap even after convert to MYR.
